Porter Regional Hospital Welcomes New Board Member

Sean Dardeau, Porter Health Care System Chief Executive Officer and the CEO for the Northwest Indiana Market, welcomed Karen Allen, R.N., Ph.D., FAAN, to Porter Regional Hospital’s Board of Trustees. Allen is Dean and Professor of the College of Nursing and Health Professions at Valparaiso University. She has served in leadership roles in health care for a number of years, and in higher education specifically for over 20 years. She has been involved with numerous healthcare organizations throughout her career. Organizations such as: National Advisory Boards for the United States Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration; Board of Trustees for the Adventist Health Systems Sunbelt Corporation, and local Community Health organizations.

“Dr. Allen’s nursing experience will be valuable to our Board of Trustees as we continue to further the delivery of quality healthcare in Northwest Indiana.” said Dardeau, “Her perspectives will be beneficial in guiding our continued growth in terms of both breadth and depth of services we provide.”
