Northwest Health Announces Fourth Annual Jars of Love Drive
3/2/2026
Northwest Health – Porter has announced its fourth annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive to fight hunger in the community. The hospital is collecting peanut butter to donate to The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana. The drive started on Feb. 9 and will continue through March 20.
Northwest Health – Porter collects peanut butter because it is high in protein and other important nutrition, has a stable shelf life, can be used in versatile ways and is desirable to just about everyone in the family.
“Every year, the hospital makes it a priority to give back to our community, and our peanut butter drive, Jars of Love is one way we do so,” said Dan Doherty, CEO of Northwest Health – Porter. “In Porter County, an estimated 10 % or more of residents experience hunger and don’t have access to enough food, which can contribute to poor health. The Northwest Indiana Food Bank is always working to address this issue and we are proud to support their efforts. And we appreciate their willingness to deliver our jars to food pantries in Porter County.” This year, Northwest Health - Porter has a goal to collect 500 jars of peanut butter and other nut butters for the food bank.
The community is invited to drop off jars of peanut butter, or other nut butters in the lobby at Northwest Health – Porter, 85 East US Highway 6 in Valparaiso or the lobbies of Northwest Health – Valparaiso at Glendale and Roosevelt Road in Valparaiso or Northwest Health – Portage at hospital at 3630 Willowcreek Road, Portage.
