Babysitting Training for Young Teens to be offered by Northwest Health – La Porte
6/3/2026
Northwest Health La Porte will offer Safe Sitter® babysitting classes for young teens, grades 6-8, on June 19 and July 14, 2026. Registration is required.
More than 775,000 young teens have graduated from the medically-accurate program which teaches how, why, and where injuries happen so they can be prevented.
The course provides hands-on practice in lifesaving techniques to young teens who are watching younger siblings, or babysitting so they are equipped with the skills and confidence to act in an emergency. They learn basic first aid, and infant and child choking rescue. Students also receive instruction on how a child’s age affects how to care for them, how to prevent problem behavior, and how to run their own babysitting business.
Students who complete a Safe Sitter® class receive a Student Handbook to use as a reference as well as a Completion Certificate demonstrating that they know how to use their skills in situations they encounter.
The cost of the course is $55. For more information, or to register your son or daughter, call 219.326.1234, ext. 1303.
