Urgent Care
When illness or injury strikes, you often need care faster than you may get at a regular doctor’s office. Yet your symptoms may not be serious enough for an ER visit. Our urgent care team is dedicated to providing quality, walk-in medical care that’s both time-saving and cost-effective.

*Online check-in should not be used for life-threatening emergencies.
Because our urgent care staff must treat patients based on the severity of illness or injury, your time is not guaranteed. We will see you as close to your designated time as possible. If your symptoms worsen or you believe you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency department as soon as possible. All patients will receive a medical screening exam at the emergency room regardless of ability to pay.
This does not apply at urgent care centers.
The Northwest Health Urgent Care sites in Chesterton, Valparaiso and Portage are departments of Northwest Health - Porter. Based on requirements of your insurance plan, you/your insurance provider will receive two bills: a bill for a facility charge and a bill for the physician fee. In addition, a copay for the facility and a copay for the physician visit may be charged if required by your insurance plan.
